Going International!

In recent months Crown have been approached to extend our unique service beyond the shores of the UK. Thanks largely to our Cabinet Office Framework & longstanding working relationships with the larger FM organisations it was only a matter of time before overseas partnerships developed.

MOD being the obvious source of enquiry we have already operated on Ascension Island & are in discussion to look at projects on the Falklands, Cyprus & Gibraltar.

This is a very exciting development for Crown and one we are keen to embrace as a key element to our business model in the coming years.

Crown Supports Parkdale FC Academy

In 2002 a small junior football club with just seven players was formed, and called Parkdale Juniors F.C.

Officially partnering with Sidac Social Club in 2007 enabling permanent access to facilities, the club name was duly changed to Parkdale Sidac F.C. to reflect this new partnership, and the junior section now consists of in excess of 250 local children.

For the 2015/16 Season the club will have 18 different teams playing, ranging from U6′s through to U18′s. The adult section at the club boasts three adult teams.

The club has been recognised regionally, and have been named not only Liverpool County FA Community Club of The Year but also in turn now North-West FA Community Club Of The Year.

The academy football team consists of children aged 6 and under, in January 2016 Crown Flooring Ltd became the first academy sponsors ever giving the children full away and home kits and water proof jackets along with a full goal keeper kit. Even though the children cannot play any competitive matches. They have taken part in a lot of friendlies and tournaments for the Parkdale being very successful in nearly all of them. They have great potential and Crown are proud to have helped in these early steps.

IML Partnership

We are delighted to announce that IML ( Infrastructure Managers Limited ) have now opted to utilise Crown via our CCS ( Crown Commercial Service ) Framework for the Supply & Installation of Floorcoverings across the extensive IML project portfolio in the UK.

Having already developed a successful working relationship with IML over several years this now formalises & enhances this working partnership through to 2019 with the potential to extend beyond that.

This new arrangement provides IML with increased access to our Unique Consultancy Team. This concentrates on developing long term processes, specifications & lifecycle planning in relation to all the Floorcoverings on the IML portfolio. This includes specialist finishes such as Resins, Timbers & Ceramics via Crown Finishes and the potential to access multi trade support via Crown Facilities.

Crown are the only UK organisation able to offer this structure on an ‘In House’ & National basis. As the specialists in such arrangements. IML are amongst a number of SPV/Asset Management organisations in discussions to develop this relationship further.

Rank 1 Award

Crown Flooring are delighted to announce that we have been awarded RANK 1 status on the newly awarded Framework for the Supply & Installation of Floorcoverings put in place by North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium (NEUPC)

As such all members of NEUPC as well as LUPC (London University Purchasing Consortium) and selected members of SUPC (Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium) can utilise Crown on a direct call-off basis.

The Framework commences from June 6th 2016 for 2 years plus the potential of a further 2 years via extension.

This is just the latest example of Crown Flooring being selected to provide a premium service and best value by a highly respected specialist Procurement Organisation.

Our account management personnel are already communicating the new Framework to all relevant Universities and Colleges.

Champion!

 Senior Contracts Manager Ian Campbell receives his trophy and prize money from Crown's Fantasy Football League Chairman, Dominic Gillies.

Ian fought off defending champion, Paul Drury, and fourteen other employees in a hotly contested season to walk away with the "Shag Pile" trophy for the first time.

When commenting on his victory Ian mentioned that he would like to thank "his wife, his two young boys and Jurgen Klopp" for making it all possible!

Keep on Running

In recent months Chris Leith from the Crown Family has pulled on his running shoes and pounded the roads. Chris, from the London office has never attempted distance running previously and the results are impressive.

Chris is now ready to run his first ever Marathon, the Virgin London Marathon on 24th April 2016. 

Chris is running the London Marathon for 'Make A Wish' a Fantastic Charity who help give seriously ill children life changing wishes. Having come from a family that has had a wish granted by this fantastic charity, Chris thought it was time he gave something back. Chris is still looking for further donations so please try to help this worthy cause.

Working Together with Unite

The latest example of Crown Group organisations working in unison to secure future work from a national organisation is the latest award from Unite to undertake Student Accommodation projects in Summer 2016.

Marc Denison of Crown Facilities and Darren Elliott of Crown Flooring front this relationship which is growing year on year.

Crown, operating as Principal Contractor, have flooring, decoration and bed replacement projects in Scotland already lined up and there is more work at bid stage.

Many organisations are now seeing the Crown Group as a one stop shop for turn key operations across the UK.

Recruitment is ongoing particularly for Crown Facilities who have a growing reputation for excellence.

Asbestos Accreditation

For a number of years now Crown have had in house Asbestos Removal capability. This Accreditation and Capability is now UK wide and can be offered as an integral service by any of our UK divisions.

Bigger and Better. Another year of Growth

After yet another year of growth across all of Crown’s UK offices plus the positive impact both Crown Facilities and Crown Finishes are having on group business, we have once again added to personnel, warehouse space and in house accreditations.

Our London office now has an additional 1500 sq ft of warehousing space, Cheshire an additional 2000 sq ft and we are in discussions to double the storage capacity of our Scottish HQ in Hamilton.

Crown Facilities and Crown Finishes are now fully integrated into all of our offices and joint ventures between all three Crown Group members are now increasing in number, particularly with some of our National Clients.

Recruitment is ongoing with Gareth Hatton joining our Cheshire Consultant Surveying Team and both London and Facilities looking to add to their Contract Management teams.

We pride ourselves on offering unparalleled customer service on a national scale. These latest additions will provide the platform to move this to an even higher level, as more and more national organisations look to the Crown Brand as a key supply chain partner.

Martin Cotterill Joins Crown

We are delighted to announce that Martin Cotterill has joined Crown to head up National Business Development. 

Martin is highly respected in the industry and brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion to the role. We are delighted to have him in our ranks

Crown Flooring Shorlisted for FeRFA Award

Crown Flooring are proud to have been short-listed in the FeRFA Awards for Small Commercial Project of the Year for the Rainbow House project. 

Partnering with the manufacturer Sika, Crown Flooring worked closely with the Rainbow House project to deliver a high quality flooring project that needed to meet very specific needs. 

Rainbow House is a national charity working with children with acquired brain injury, multiple disabilities and complex health needs. They are based at a 12 acre site in Mawdesley, Lancashire but offer our services to children from across the UK. The flooring in this new facility had to meet the challenge of providing a comfortable surface for floor therapy exercises, yet offer some slip resistance with an attractive seamless floor.

The Resin Flooring Association, FeRFA, represents the major product manufacturers, specialist contractors and surface preparation companies, raw material suppliers and specialist service providers within the UK Resin Flooring Industry.

Congratulations to Kelly and Danny

Our very own Kelly Tierney from the Cheshire office is now officially Mrs Bacon.

Kelly and Danny married on Saturday 10th October and are now enjoying the sunshine of Mexico with young Kai. It was a wonderful day and quite a drunken night with plenty of Crown colleagues in attendance. 

We  all wish them every happiness.

Costa Coffee Selects Crown

Another month and yet another major organisation looks to Crown for their National flooring provisions.

Costa Coffee are undertaking an intense programme of refits across the UK with Crown Flooring established as the only Flooring contractor capable of wholesale involvement.

Beginning late summer Crown Flooring will be Supplying and Installing Hard and Soft finishes nationwide in Costa Coffee establishments. These projects are set to roll through into 2016 and will require high level logistical management, which is of course Crown’s speciality.

Open University enter Framework Agreement

The latest national organisation to enter into a long term framework agreement with Crown Flooring is Open University. With the ink barely dry on this 4 year arrangement work has already started in earnest & we look forward to developing this working relationship with a key British institution.

Crescent Purchasing Consortium

As the UK’s Premier Framework contractor, Crown are pleased to announce the recent award of the CPC Framework. This is a national EU compliant framework with full UK coverage. Crown are the only Contractor available on all 7 lots, demonstrating best value and being rank 1 in 5 of the lots. It has a 3 year lifespan with the option of a further years extension. Crown Flooring are delighted to announce a new national framework agreement with one of Europe's leading Private Healthcare Specialists. Crown will be one of 2 organisations to provide a full UK service and look forward to developing this relationship in the coming years. It is another example of the comprehensive service we now provide across the UK as a whole.

Legacy Rainbow House Charity

Crown Flooring are providing their services Free of Charge for a remarkable organisation, the LEGACY RAINBOW HOUSE CHARITY in Mawdesley, Lancashire. Rainbow House aims to increase the Independent Living of children & young adults with physical & learning disabilities. Many young lives and families benefit from the services this wonderful group of professional provide. Crown Flooring are installing nearly 400M2 of Sika Comfort Floor Plus Resin laid in multiple colour design work displaying Rainbow patterns across the site. It is a highly technical operation that only a very few contractors in Europe would undertake & will be completed this month. The results are already appearing spectacular and we are delighted to be adding such a groundbreaking feature to so such a deserving cause.

Crown are undertaking multiple projects across the length & breadth of the UK for TRAVELODGE & HOLIDAY INN. These projects involve resilient & soft finishes & a good deal of proactive management.  Once again it is testament to the truly national organisation Crown have now become & we are continuing to attract major national clients as a result.

New Starter

We are delighted to announce that Marc Denison has joined the Crown family. Marc takes up the key role of National Operations Manager for Crown Facilities. We have worked with Marc for many years on opposite sides of the table and are extremely pleased to have him us with in these exciting times for the Company. Marc is a perfect fit for Crown, a family man, a terrible golfer and has that essential Sense of Humour.  He Is highly respected in the Building Surveying fraternity and is relishing the opportunity to take Crown Facilities to the next level.

FM Excellence

In recent years Crown have developed excellent national working relationships with the leading FM organisations in the UK. Many of these arrangements are unique & involve Public Sector end users. We have received many commendations & awards from the FM sector, the latest being from VINCI FM. VINCI operational staff across the UK have selected Crown Flooring as their best performing Sub Contractor across all trades. This P1 commendation from Vinci is reward for all Crown Flooring personnel involved both Management and Installation. Crown were awarded leading Sub Contractor in all categories, Operational, Administration & Customer Service processes. A well done to everyone at Crown handling the VINCI account.
