Crown flooring was formed by Wayne Edwards & Tony Thompson, initially focusing on delivering projects for the public sector in the Northwest of England.
The vision being to develop a unique business model, where working relationships were very much with the ‘end user’, as opposed to adopting the traditional ‘sub-contracting’ role associated with Flooring contractors. A business that would employ and train a workforce rather than outsource, a business that could then control and develop its capacity and ‘genuine’ in house customer service regardless of the size, scope, or complexity of the job.

Crown Flooring now operate out of 4 regional hubs covering the UK, have added Crown Facilities, a ‘multi-trade’ operation, and Crown Finishes, Resins, and specialist Installations.

The Directors are extremely proud of what has been achieved since 1997 but are very much focused on the future.

Crown Flooring are proud to announce that we are finalists in this years Contract Flooring Journal Award in a joint installation with Forbo Flooring at Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust.

Speaking of the Modul’up installation at Ormskirk District General Hospital, Dominic Gillies, account manager at Crown Flooring, commented: ‘We completed the Modul’up installations overnight, Monday to Thursday, while the department was closed.
‘The adhesive-free solution saved us a lot of time as we did not need to prepare the subfloor and it was really easy to lay it over the existing vinyl. Owing to the nature of hospitals, and particularly in the current climate, it’s important that tradespeople are able to get in and out as quickly as possible, and Modul’up enabled us to do this whilst still completing the job to an excellent standard. I would definitely recommend using it on further projects.’

Crown have been designated a ‘Key Essential Service Provider’ being part of the Government Frameworks Supply Chain. The service provision through this difficult time, includes continuing to support you by taking survey/pricing/quote requests, orders and progress existing works as specific site conditions allow.
Attend emergency call outs/requirements as required in line with Govt. guidelines and site-specific conditions.
We are now operating with minimal office Administration Staff in line with Govt. guidelines to deliver these services, with our remaining teams now on Furlough. Crown Flooring helping Children in Need
Crown Flooring are delighted to have been involved in the recent DIYSOS project for BBC Children in Need helping Nightsafe, an amazing charity supporting young homeless people in the Blackburn area. The DIYSOS team have transformed a rundown church hall, originally built in the early 1800’s, into accommodation and a support centre for Nightsafe. Crown Flooring fitting staff have been working round the clock to help deliver this wonderful project, from preparation works through to the fitting of LVT, sheet carpet and vinyl. We would also like to thank Gradus and Ardex for their generosity and support in donating materials at short notice.
Record Breaking Installation!
Crown Flooring recently completed over 45,000M2 of replacement Carpet Tiling in under 3 months for DWP in Newcastle.
On a fully operational, occupied Government site, this was a record breaking feat for a UK Installation of this nature.
The project was completed to a high quality resulting in impressive feed back from DWP & NEP.
Crown joined forces with Interface to ensure full recycling and landfill avoidance of the old flooring
End of an Era!
Paul Drury was given a fond farewell by his colleagues in the Cheshire office last week.

We are delighted to announce that after a rigorous and lengthy tender exercise followed by an even more thorough evaluation, CROWN FLOORING have been awarded the CROWN COMMERCIAL SERVICE FRAMEWORK RM3830.
This 4 year Framework is for FACILITIES MANAGEMENT across the UK.
Not only can our Core Service ( The Supply & Installation of Floorcoverings ) be accessed via a CCS Framework but now our rapidly expanding FACILITIES DIVISION headed by MARC DENISON can further develop Public Sector Working Relationships.
This will involve all aspects of FM as well as Multi Trade Project Operations & Consultancy.
It is further testament to our longstanding Public sector pedigree & the recent expansion of our Facilities Division.

20 Years of Excellence
This month Crown Flooring celebrate 20 fabulous years in business.
With year on year growth, the recent addition of Crown Finishes & Crown Facilities & a business model the envy of the industry, it is clear to see that the next 20 years will be just as rewarding.
From a regional flooring contractor in 1997 to the stand alone UK Brand in Flooring Framework operations with offices in Cheshire, London, Scotland & very shortly to be added, South Wales, the secret has been a unique approach to business backed by incredible employees.
It is a success story second to none in the Flooring industry & the sheer size, variety, longevity & stability of the client base is testament to that.

London Fire Brigade
Crown Flooring are delighted to announce that London Fire Brigade have signed up to a Framework Agreement for the Supply & Installation of Floorcoverings through to 2020.
This kicks off with a sizeable Carpet Tile project at their Headquarters in SE1 but covers all LFB properties.

Semperian
We are delighted to announce that after several years of working with Semperian across their extensive national property portfolio Crown have now entered into a Framework agreement for the next 3 years.
This agreement, signed at the Semperian offices in Daresbury last Friday will result in Crown undertaking the flooring works across the majority ( around 85% ) of Semperian properties in the UK.
Crown have acted as both a key supply chain partner & specification consultant for Semperian. This Framework comes on the back of another successfully completed School programme of works throughout the Summer.
All 3 Crown offices across the UK are heavily involved in Semperian delivery so this Framework is yet another example of the truly unique national service Crown Flooring provide.
PD's Big Day!
Our very own Paul Drury tied the knot with Lily on Saturday 10th September.
As you can imagine with Paul the 'shindig' that followed lived up to expectations and the happy couple ... Hangovers and all are now enjoying their honeymoon .
We wish them all the best for the future and are delighted for them both.
